General Capabilities

Our 80-plus man shop operates on two shifts. We have considerable CNC capability in both turning and milling operations. We also provide all facets of grinding including I.D., O.D., surface and centerless. Ford Tool is particularly well suited to manufacture round parts such as die holders, punch holders, knockout pins, sleeves, fillers and feed rolls and milled items such as die blocks, punch blocks, cutter holders and fingers. Our CNC capability enables us to be very price competitive.

Steel Division

We manufacture all types of steel tooling for parts formers, cold headers, boltmakers, nut formers and hot headers. Currently we do business with over 250 accounts and believe we produce more die casings than any other single manufacturer.

Carbide Division

We also manufacture carbide header tooling. Our capabilities include carbide inserted dies, carbide spring punches, carbide quills, cutter inserts, carbide extrusion pins, and carbide inserted punches. We also manufacture special carbide tooling requiring serrations, tri-lobar specifications, tri-points, 12-points, hexes, ovals, squares or any shaped cavity or extrusion.

EDM - Tri-Wire Division

Tri-Wire has 8 wire EDM machines assuring fast turn-around on orders of all sizes. Our state-of-the-art equipment & tooling allows us to hold very tight tolerances. Wire EDM is an excellent process for intricate shapes and exotic materials not well suited to conventional machining.
